Privacy Policy

GoodSpider, LLC builds and operates a portfolio of focused encyclopedia apps and web tools. This policy explains how we handle information in these encyclopedia apps (each, the “App”), including current and future encyclopedia subjects.

At a Glance

The App does not require an account. We do not sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The App does not request your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

Information the App Handles

• AI chat content. If you choose to use Premium chat, we process the questions you submit, recent messages in that chat, relevant encyclopedia excerpts, and the answers generated for you. We store chat messages so your chat history remains available in the App.
• Purchase and entitlement information. When you buy or restore a purchase, Apple provides signed transaction and subscription information. Our service stores a one-way-hashed entitlement identifier, product identifier, StoreKit environment, and entitlement expiration so it can verify Premium access. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
• Service and security information. Our servers receive standard network information, including IP address, when the App connects. We use short-lived request records to prevent abuse, apply rate limits, diagnose failures, and keep the service secure.
• Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include in the message.
• On-device information. Reading progress, favorites, preferences, and aggregate feature counters are stored locally on your device. Our current analytics counters do not transmit article titles, search terms, chat text, account identifiers, or device identifiers to GoodSpider.

How We Use Information

We use this information only to provide requested App features, generate and preserve chat conversations, verify purchases and subscriptions, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot and secure the service, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable law.

Service Providers

We share only the information needed to provide the service with:

• Apple, for App Store distribution, TestFlight, StoreKit purchases, subscriptions, and purchase restoration.
• OpenAI, which processes chat prompts, recent conversation context, and relevant encyclopedia excerpts to generate AI answers when you use Premium chat.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, which process data on our behalf to operate and secure the App’s backend and this website.

We require service providers to handle information only for the services they provide to us and to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. Their own terms and privacy policies may also apply.

Retention and Deletion

Chat messages are retained to provide chat history until they are deleted at your request or are no longer needed to operate the service. Expired Premium session records are removed after a short operational grace period. Anti-abuse request records are periodically removed after approximately two days. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and document the request.

You can remove information stored locally by deleting the App. To request access to or deletion of server-stored chat or support information, email [email protected] and name the encyclopedia you use. Because the App does not require an account or collect your email address in the App, we may need information from your installation to locate the correct records, and in some cases we may be unable to associate anonymous records with you. Your Choices

Premium chat is optional. If you do not use it, the App does not send chat questions or encyclopedia context for AI processing. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account. You may also contact us to exercise privacy rights available where you live.

Children

The App is a general-audience reference product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security and International Processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
